Boy Scout Troop 148 is located in beautiful Temecula, California, in the Tahquitz District of the California Inland Empire Council. We are chartered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4089, in Temecula, California.

We target at least one overnight event each month. Traditional backpacking and regular horizon-expanding events such as aviation, canoeing, cycling, local and wilderness camping are highlighted, promoting teamwork and leadership, as well as individual skills.

Christmas Party

We are having our Christmas Party on December 17th.  Everyone is welcome to join and we would love to see you all.  It is free for all registered scouts and scouters.  Parents and siblings are a small $5 fee.  Sign up on the troops webpage as we do provide dinner.  All youth (scouts and siblings) are welcome to bring a wrapped gift valued at $20 suitable for our scouting aged youth.

Mistletoe

We have many Mistletoe time slots on the troops webpage.  If you have any questions reach out to Mr. Mullins.  A Scout is Thrifty and this is a great way to help pay your own way.

Climbing Merit Badge

We will be doing the Climbing Merit Badge on December 28th at a gym in San Marcos.  It will take a good portion of the day and is always a lot of fun.  If you do not yet have the merit badge and wish to earn it please sign up soon.  We only have two spots open.

Court of Honor this Tuesday

A reminder that the Court of Honor is this Tuesday.  For those families who are new, the Court of Honor is an event to present awards and disseminate information.   Parents should make every effort to attend along with their son.  Scouts should wear Class A and Merit Badge Sash.  We will be holding the Court of Honor at St. Thomas and need all scouts and parents present to properly issues awards and recognize each scout for their accomplishments.

First Class Campout

The First Class Campout is designed to Help both younger and older scouts. The older scouts will use the Teaching EDGE to help others learn. Scouts that have not reached First Class will gain valuable skills to help them succeed.  

Summer Troop Meeting

This Tuesday will be our first summer troop meeting.  Summer meetings are in Class B and will be from 6pm-8pm. First year scouts will be working on physical fitness rank requirements and scout skills. Others will be starting Cooking, Personal Fitness or Communication merit badge.  We meet at Kent Hintergardt Memorial Park.  All scouts need to check In with their patrol for attendance records and the. We do roll call at the end of the meeting. Do not leave unless your parent checks you out with the adult in charge.
